Jaguar E-type 4.2 XKE Series 1 - 1966

I believe in specialism. You know all the ins and outs of the item that you are selling. In my case that will be Porsche off course. But sometimes you cannot a resist another car!
I always liked the Jaguar E-Type and I like special stories behind a car. This car is one special story. Mr. Robert Duke bought in June 1966 at Marquis Motors Laguna Beach a Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Series 1 2+2 and kept it untill 8 weeks ago. He only drove 67.000 Miles with it and serviced it regularly. All the books including the original brochure is still with the car. A true single owner E-Type.

Amazing preserved body. No rust, never had rust. No panels replaced or welded. Good panel fittings.

Paint:
Car is mostly repainted in its original color. Very nice but with a little touch of patina.

Interior:
Beside the seat cushion all original. And all in pristine condition. The car was delivered without a radio even the radio cut out coverplate is still with the car. No dash cracks, lovely wooden steering wheel and everything works. Even the interior lights. You can see that the only owner was a caring owner.

Engine:
The matching Numbers 6 cilinder runs in one button touch. No smoking and lots of power. All original carburators and set up. The new double pipes exhaust produce a lovely deep sound. Even today an e-type is not a slow car. I was impressed at my first drive. It must have been a super car in the mid sixties!

Matching Numbers 4 speed gearbox. Shifts smooth and direct in every gear. Good clutch.

Wheels:
Perfect original chrome wire wheels with almost new tyres.

The slogan of Porsche is “There is no substitute. To be honest… in the sixties there was. The Jaguar E-type is an icon. Like Enzo Ferrari said. The most beautiful car ever made. I have to agree a bit on that one! ;-)
