When you are looking for an early 356 which has the whole package. This is the one:! Two owners since new, 117.000 documented miles, the ultimate color combination, matching numbers, never restored, all original numbered panels, never hit, lovely patina, original books!, original tools, jack, some parts are still first paint and it drives like new. Yes, this one has it all. This early A Coupe was born in late ’56. A friend of the first owner mrs. Rene Barstow picked it up at the factory. He made al little trip in Europe and shipped the car to San Diego. It was not uncommon for Porsche PCA members to have their car delivered at the factory. This is all documented! San Diego Motor Imports made a delivery inspection in early ’57 and delivered the car to Mrs. Barstow. Mrs. Barstow droves this car off and on up untill she died in 1996. The car had 107.000 miles when it went to the second owner. (all documented) This Porsche collector drove about 10.000 miles with it. He gave her the name “Sylvia” because of the silver color. When I bought it I tried to keep it as original as possible. I put back on the 4 original matching dated chrome wheels with new Vredestein tyres. Also the spare wheel comes with the car and is also dated. The original 60 HP engine was not running well when I bought it. So I decided to overhaul the engine. They only painted a few engine shroud parts because there was no paint left after 60 years. The engine with an original 4 pipe Abarth exhaust is now driving smooth and even quite fast. Also the complete clutch was replaced. The body is complete rust free beside some bubbles on the lower part of the doors. Floors and all the other sheed metal parts are 100% original and in great shape. Gaps are still the same as when they left the factory. Car is repainted many years ago. Paint is faded and have some chips. This also gives the car the ultimate patine look. The all original interior shows the age of 60 years. Tea coloured headliner, original seat upholstery with wear and tear, the rare sunvisors and even the frayed but original carpet is still there. This 356 A is not a car you can buy every day. The all documented history together with the condition of the car makes it a welcome member of every Porsche collection. A car is only once unrestored. Not for sale for people who are planning to restore it.
